Thanks for sharing your story. It’s amazing how that works every time. Glad you got to the other side. A true bottom is necessary, but like you said, we get a blank slate to create something new and different.
Congratulations, Adam, on having the bravery to write this. For me, it was a case of being sick and tired of being sick and tired, until I found CBT, and writing my book was a way of sharing, and consolidating, my journey. Keep writing and where's your book :)
Congrats on your recovery and your accountability. You are the 1 in 10000 and I hope you’re able to maintain your sobriety. I know relapse can happen. You are right about rock bottom. I was lucky I hit mine when I was in my 20s and it took 15 years to dig out of it. But having nothing and no one can wake you up to life. Most people don’t understand they’re only a few steps away from falling off the cliff. Job loss, death, addiction, in my case an abusive relationship. But whatever happens you can always choose yourself and your attitude. Thank you for sharing your experience. ❤️
Thank you for your comments! Everything you're saying is right. Everyone is a few steps away from their hell so we must choose our attitudes and our actions wisely. Brilliant insights, thank you.
Thanks for being vulnerable with us, Adam. You've experienced the depths of human sorrow and looked into the abyss, and now you're sharing with us what you've learned about yourself and life. Thank you.
It can be our darkest moments that grab us by our collar and hold us against the wall - and finally convince us to make a change, to be something better.
I'd love to read further articles on what you actually did to build yourself from the ground up.
“The real strength isn’t just surviving the depths and the filth of rock bottom—it’s building a solid foundation right there in the dirt.” This line. Congratulations on your recovery and thank you for sharing what you’re building in its place with us.

Thank you Zipporah. And we get that blank slate option every day because we can choose our attitudes and our actions.
Thank you for reading.
You're so right!! Every day is a new opportunity!
Such a powerful share, Adam. Hell yes to choosing - and choosing again - who we become.
Thank you Dana. It’s all in the awareness of the ability to choose.

Thank you for your feedback and thanks for sharing the post.
CBT - as you may imagine, I’m totally on board with this approach. It’s right there in my collection of frameworks on how to live life.
The book? Give it 5 more years.
Thank you, Mark!
It is incredible how much health - power You were wasting away,
So did I.
Channel it in Your fists Adam,
the only thing You were missing all this time,
was right direction.
Everything You felt inside -- was right.
We need to fight one day, on solid ground --
You and I.
Osu
For the same side, I hope.
Thank you, Warrior.
Solid insights.
I meant sparring, but --
For just cause, we can walk --
side to side.
Just sent a few “coffees” your way. Thank you for sharing your experience and hope this helps!!
Thank you very much, Lady Libidex! I’m honoured.

I think it was about time I shared some of that. More to come, my friend. Thank you Ryan.
Look forward to reading more as I am able.

This is so powerful and so true. Rock bottom can really save us if we choose to let it. I hit many before I decided to quit digging deeper.
Thank you so much for sharing this.

That's it. Nail on the head.

The pleasure is mine! 🙏😊
This was very good to read even though it is completely alien to my life trajectory. However, there are things to learn.
Quite a journey!
Wouldn’t recommend it.
